Barcelona makes a fantastic short break location. It is a very exciting city full of vibrance and culture with a very distinctive Mediterrean feel about it. Situated by the sea, Barcelona has wonderful cobbled streets full of Gothic and Gaudi's cheeky archictecture, chic shopping and restaurants. Not to be missed is the buzzing Ramblas area in the centre of the city which is
full of tapas bars, to tempt the taste buds, market stalls, nightlife and music. All of which are open into the early hours of the morning.
Although the drivers know the Catalunya circuit very well, due to testing their cars there extensively during the closed season, the challenge for them during the Spanish Grand Prix is no less, due to the mix of high and low-speed corners, unpredictable cross winds and the unforgiving track surface which wears down the tyres so much. In 2008 Ferrari Kimi Räikkönen, and Felippe Massa (both Ferrari) took 1st and 2nd place with Lewis Hamilton coming in third, after poor Alonso, who started the race on the front line of the grid, pushed too hard and, to the dismay of his fans, ended up in a tyre wall and having to go to hospital.
Will 2010 be his year on his home turf?
